This is a passion project that's been in the making since fall of 2018. What started as lyrics written after leaving an underwhelming show then became bass riffs following those lines. A couple years after, during the first year of the pandemic, arranging and recording these 4 songs actualized their existence as fleshed out beings. After fooling around with the idea of electronic intermissions, the modular residency with E halfway thru 2021 provided pieces for such an idea, although not their original intent. What stands now is a look at my brain in 2018, my anger, rage, helplessness, pain, trauma, frustrations, fears, and anxieties being fully thrown at a piece of paper and a bass guitar. Stories I wanted to tell but had not yet the courage for. I look back and feel a lot of growth from certain attitudes laid across, more understanding and knowledge of how these songs relate to me and could relate to others. How, no matter what, this passion I have is reflective of the resistance of brown and black folk on this sacred land and hopefully a continuance of a spirit attempting to unbound itself from colonialist, white supremacy culture.
