This was my fourth tape of 2011 after going thru my freshman year with no laptop. I got another that summer and started trying to recover time lost. The year prior I had lost most of the 500 tracks I had produced in high school, so I was in a weird state of familiarizing myself with Fruity Loops while also employing whatever new ideas had came to my head throughout those first two semesters. I had fallen heavily into indigenous music, exemplified in the title track. I also was getting into breakbeat as heard on "Goodbye", all the while keeping the roots with several jazz and fusion samples peppered through out. However, I still had the peer pressure around me to make a "trap" beat, which is heard on "Swagtastic", which has a formula that I thoroughly repeated in coming years with my trap production. When I released this, I was very much against going back to ECU for my sophomore year; disenchantment with the education I was receiving and a couple months of abusing benzos had me very uninspired. The most alive I felt was producing, which I hope can be felt through these tracks. So enjoy this trip back in time and lose yourself in the nostalgia.
